We like to listen. We work on a broad range of projects: while some need only subtle adjustments there are others that require more creative processing. Each project is individual and approached accordingly to meet your needs and vision. The less we need to transform your music mixes, the better the final outcome. This is why we offer a free evaluation of your audio mixes, since there may be issues that are best fixed in the audio mix that will become evident on our playback system: it is designed to highlight any imbalance! If you want, we can assist you improve your mixes.

The simplest and fastest way to hear what we can do for you and your music is to request a test audio master. It is often best to request test-masters for two tracks of your project since mastering is about creating coherence between tracks and making them sound like they belong together.

If you want to impart the sound of real tape to your mixes we offer ‘layback mastering’ where your digital source is printed to our Studer A820 half-inch deck at either 15IPS (for stronger low-end) or 30IPS (for increased bandwidth and less noise). Contact us and we can discuss all of you needs.

We have compiled a list with directions on how to best prepare your audio mixes for mastering found in our downloads folder located to the right in the Reception area of this page.

Vinyl Master Cut

Vinyl Master Cut

All lacquer masters and dubplates are cut on a Neumann VSM70 lathe, providing excellent cutswith high dynamic output. We can provide a flat audio transfer to the lacquer master without any processing. On dynamic masters we have compiled limitations on what can be transferred to a lacquer disc have all been taken into account, unless directed otherwise. However, if needed, excessive high and low frequencies will be attenuated, as excessive low frequencies will prevent a loud record, out of phase low frequencies will cause skips and excessive highs may cause damage to the cutter-head. If vinyl is your sole intended release format changes can also be made to improve the sound. Whether you need locked grooves or you want your record to play from the inside out, our cutting engineer Mike Grinser in Berlin can cover all your needs for releases on vinyl.

Make sure you download and fill out our vinyl intake form found in Downloads folder located to the right in the Reception area of this page.
